Group Ride Leader

Be a leader, not a racer.

Communicate.

Do not take new riders on roads they are not ready for.

If you do not know where you are going, do not lead.

Ditch the trouble makers.

Do not point at every pebble on the road.

Wait to pass until there is a large open zone in front of the vehicle being passed.

Signal intentions early.

Do a pre-ride briefing.

Make sure everyone is gassed up before leaving.

Tell the group you will stop whenever the route changes direction.

Pass out maps for long rides.

Stop at all yellow lights.

Make it clear that everyone is to ride at their own pace.

Establish the buddy system with riders behind you.

Designate stopping points.

Stagger or single riding position depending on the road.

It is a ride, not a race.

Stops are to be where all riders can get off the road easily and safely.

Take a poll for all riders needs?

HAVE FUN!
